Nestled in the woods of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in northern New Mexico, Hummingbird Community thrives – a co-creative living laboratory in conscious evolution and eco-sustainability.
Active participants in a global movement for justice and sustainability, members of Hummingbird Community work with a wide network of supporters. Together they steward a living model for a new world into dynamic and joyous manifestation.
Community Approach and Process
The Core Group Process, developed by Global Family, is a central organizational practice used by the community.
Curiosity, humor, respect and openness mark their approach to community meetings, team meetings, and the overall community decision-making process.
Finding safety and trust necessary for community function and evolution, the community practices deep listening and loving communication.
Honoring the Parts as Equal to the Whole
Individuality is equally supported in this communication process. Each individual viewpoint within the larger whole is celebrated. Community members recognize the unique purpose of each individual. Embracing the microcosmic/macrocosmic idea that the whole actually is each individual, the community operates with the knowledge that the complete truth of a situation cannot be fully known until all community members have been heard.
The community has been in existence since 1997, residing on a beautiful 500 acres in the wilderness that they live in harmony with and mindfully cultivate. With pristine surroundings and a vision “to cultivate a joyful, vibrant, co-creative culture in service to the evolution of consciousness,” Hummingbird Community is dedicated to a new way of living emerging.
Offering workshops in conscious living, relationships and community building, retreat space, a healing center, and the Hummingbird Living School, Hummingbird Community shares what they’ve learned and are learning with the wider world. Follow their work and find out more.
